In one of Hawaiʻi’s oldest legends, the warrior ʻŌhiʻa was turned into a tree by the volcano goddess Pele. His lover, Lehua, was transformed into the first flower to grow from his bark. The two became one, but never whole again. To this day, plucking a lehua bloom is said to cause the sky to cry—rainfall born of eternal separation.
This shirt honors the story carved into lava and memory: a love scorched by gods, and a tree that blooms through fire.
